With the screen as our stage, KEIGWIN + COMPANY is committed to exploring new ways to create work and engage with audiences during this moment of isolation and change. Since March 2020, Artistic Director Larry Keigwin has jumped into the world of virtual dancemaking, utilizing the online platform to celebrate artistry and amplify connection with commissions from The Juilliard School, Paul Taylor Dance Company, Works & Process at the Guggenheim, and Fire Island Dance Festival.
We are reinventing. Re-imagining. Remaking.
Bolero Juilliard, Commissioned by The Juilliard School
With our lives in disruption due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, our desire to connect and create work in collaboration has been amplified, even as we remain physically separate. Choreographer Larry Keigwin has developed a new digital dance in partnership with the full community of artists from The Juilliard School, bringing together 100+ dancers, musicians, singers, actors, faculty, and alumni to create a celebration of connection and community, shaped and informed by their individual artistry. Based on K+C’s acclaimed community work Bolero, created in 14 cities nationwide and soon to be a dance film in Bolero Seniors, Bolero Juilliard will showcase the talents and creativity of the country’s best young artists across discipline in a moving portrait of art-making and shared humanity amid physical isolation and uncertainty.
Director & Choreographer, Larry Keigwin, Associate Director & Choreographer, Nicole Wolcott, Conductor, David Robertson, Music Producer/Additional Arrangements, Kurt Crowley.

22 Rooms, Commissioned by Paul Taylor Dance Company
With traditional ways of dance-making and collaboration disrupted, our friends at the Paul Taylor Dance Company announce the premiere of 22 Rooms – the Company’s first virtually-made dance work – choreographed and directed by our own Larry Keigwin.
This pioneering new piece experiments with Taylor dancers, as well as iconic songs from the mid-twentieth century, showing intimate life moments as you are invited into the living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and corners of the dancers’ homes. At our collective moment of physical isolation and virtual ties, 22 Rooms reveals and accentuates our connections amid anxiety and loneliness. Guided by his brilliant eye and punctuated by his signature wit, Larry presents the Taylor dancers for the first time in a digital commission, allowing us all the opportunity to be inspired by the emotional sincerity the Taylor Company is known for.
This work was made possible by a generous gift from Jody & John Arnhold.
