KEIGWIN KABARET

Special Projects

KEIGWIN KABARETs are spectacles of contemporary dance and burlesque performed as site-specific work. Audiences glimpse the underbelly of performance culture through provocative evenings of dance and comedy. Inspired by the backstage events of live theater, KEIGWIN + COMPANY present smart dances with hints of irony while special guest stars juice up the entertainment quotient.

Over the past nine years, Keigwin Kabaret has been presented by Galapagos Arts Space, Joe’s Pub, and the Leonard Nimoy Thalia at Symphony Space. Guest artists have included comedian Bradford Scobie, burlesque performers Dirty Martini and the World Famous *BOB*, dancer and choreographer David Neumann, and Whitney Biennial artist, and acclaimed conceptual choreographer, Julie Atlas Muz.

“LARRY KEIGWIN’S “KABARET” WAS A MODEL OF WELL-MADE DANCE THAT WAS AS SURPRISINGLY POIGNANT AS IT WAS HILARIOUS.”
