EMILY SCHOEN (Dancer) was born and raised in Wisconsin, where she began her dance training under Kellie Plath. She furthered her studies at the University of Arizona, where she graduated summa cum laude with honors, with a BFA in Dance and a BS in Nutritional Sciences. In school, she was awarded the Undergraduate Creative Achievement Award and performed in works by Paul Taylor, River North Dance Chicago, Doug Nielsen, and more. Professionally, Emily has worked for the Metropolitan Opera in works by Mark Morris (Orfeo Ed Eurydice) and Doug Varone (Les Troyens), Nicholas Andre Dance, the Steps Repertory Ensemble, the Rolling Stones at their 50th Anniversary reunion show in New Jersey; has toured internationally with Nejla Yatkin/NY2 Dance; and is a proud current member of KEIGWIN + COMPANY. In addition to performing, Emily is a working choreographer, creating her own work in New York and fulfilling commissions in Arizona and Wisconsin. She was recently awarded the Gibney Boo Koo Grant for Emerging Artist in New York City. Dance Magazine chose Emily as one of their “Top 25 to Watch” in 2011.
